Wow, what a stunning release from ECM’s Works collection! The lineup shifts from trio to quartet, with two solo pieces thrown in for good measure, and Gismonti shines on piano, guitar, and might even be the vocalist at the close of Salvador. The tracks are fantastic, and I’d say this is as solid an entry point into Gismonti’s work as you’ll find.
