Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
In "WORKIN' ON A GROOVY THING", Grove Holmes is backed by a groovy rhythm duo (Wilton Felder and Paul Humphrey) and a massive eleven-piece horn section, all brought to life with soulful, swinging arrangements by Gerald Wilson. Standout tracks include "Isola Natale", "High Blood Pressure", "Listen Here", and "Rhythm & Groove". This 1969 vinyl pressing offers decent sound quality, with well-balanced levels, punchy horns, and a rich organ tone. However, the soundstage feels a bit cramped. My copy has some light crackles during quieter moments, but thankfully, no skips.
