Always these boring Christmas albums! Finally, there's an alternative to the typical Christmas rock samplers: Die Roten Rosen or Die Toten Hosen. Whether you should play this CD when Grandma and Grandpa visit is up to you. Even I would try to play along with the suggested tracks. It's practical that the songs are quite short. Some songs stand out a bit, as they are interpreted too extremely, like "Oh Tannenbaum" with a drunken voice and "Still, Still, Still" with too loud a voice. And with "Leise rieselt der Schnee," you can't quite make out what kind of snow is actually falling. With "Merry X-Mas everybody" and "Happy X-Mas (War is over)," you can clearly tell that the English-language songs create a much better atmosphere. It's also nice that the traditional songs like "Auld lang syne," "The little drummer boy," and "White Christmas" weren't forgotten. If "Alle Jahre wieder" were sung like this in church, younger people would voluntarily attend more often. Of course, Die Roten Rosen give the songs their own style, but they also introduce me to previously unknown yet beautiful songs like "Hark! The Herald Angels sing" and "I wish it could be Christmas every day." The original compositions "Weihnachtsmann vom Dach," "Frohes Fest," and "Weihnachten bei den Brandts" even have depressive, socially critical lyrics, which I really like, as Christmas isn't a festival of love/joy for everyone. Well, that's it then. It's just a shame that, like all other Christmas CDs, this one too becomes boring at the latest after the 12th song.
Translated automatically,Precisely what I needed. It's the perfect contrast to Bad Religion's Christmas Songs.
