Wet Dirt" is just as fantastic as the Mr. Burns track on Side A's "Springfield Power Plant". This album, like the other one, is supposedly handled by just one MC and one DJ (though a closer look at the credits might tell a different story...), "Wet Dirt" gives Crime another chance to show off his skills with jazzy samples - delivering awesome pop culture references (like the "People's Elbow" line in "Purple Rain") and incredible wordplay (that alteration on the album's closer "FFFeel Good") as well as a level of storytelling vulnerability that's unmatched in his other work (check out: "Purple Rain" & "Divine"). "Wet Dirt" is so good that I listened to it all the way through twice, which is something rare for music from the 2010's. But even though I loved this tape, I can't help but wonder what would happen to Crime's discography if he worked with multiple producers on an LP? Would it still feel as personal as "Wet Dirt" or his other projects, on his flawless discography (so far)? Only time will tell, but if the future sounds anything like "Wet Dirt" - then I can't wait to hear it.
