In this album, Gogi Grant's singing is as excellent as ever, but the sound quality of the music backing is quite poor - it's almost like it was recorded from afar and sent to the studio through a phone. I also suspect that Gogi Grant's vocals were recorded apart from the music. I've always been curious if the CD versions sounded this way due to old master tapes or perhaps errors in the remastering process. A few years back, I first listened to this album from a monophonic BMG Spain CD reissue as well as the Flair Records 2009 stereo CD reissue (Mad About the Boy), which was likely remastered from a vinyl record. Eventually, I purchased the original vinyl and found that the poor audio quality was present from the start. The album cover is gorgeous, though, and the vocals are stunning enough to make it worth listening to now and then.
