Product Description

Deerhunter's "Weird Era Cont." is a mesmerizing journey through the realms of neo-psychedelia, shoegaze, dream pop, and noise rock, all wrapped up in a concise 42-minute experience. Released on December 1, 2008, under the esteemed 4AD label, this album is a testament to the band's ability to blend genres and create something uniquely captivating.

From the haunting echoes of "Backspace Century" to the ethereal beauty of "Vox Celeste," Deerhunter weaves a tapestry of sound that is both intricate and immersive. Tracks like "Ghost Outfit" and "Moon Witch Cartridge" showcase the band's knack for crafting dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes, while "Slow Swords" and "Calvary Scars II/Aux. Out." bring a raw, gritty edge that keeps the listener engaged.

The album's title track, "Weird Era," is a standout, encapsulating the essence of the record with its hypnotic rhythms and layered vocals. Meanwhile, "Focus Group" and "VHS Dream" offer a nod to the nostalgic, evoking a sense of nostalgia that is both warm and melancholic.

Deerhunter's "Weird Era Cont." is not just an album; it's an experience. It's a collection of songs that invite the listener to explore the depths of their own imagination, to get lost in the sound, and to emerge with a newfound appreciation for the beauty of noise and the power of melody.

This is a 2014 Repress released as a LP.

Quite a bit of surface noise here. Colored vinyl gone bad.

  • Great Sound, Wrong Color

    duenub19 December 2025United States🇺🇸

Ordered this from Amazon 'cause the white version was shown in the pic, even though most folks said they got this one instead. Crossed my fingers for white, but no such luck. That said, this thing sounds just about perfect. It's got a warm sound, it's quiet, it's heavy, and the music on it really takes flight.
