Amazing album, a real delight for the ears, straight from the fantastic performance
Amazing sounding CD. I'm not usually into live albums but I was after the complete performance of "On Broadway" and found myself loving the whole thing. Warm, dynamic, spacious sound, just flawless.
I'm absolutely in love with this LP, I've got three copies – this one, the UK version, and the Japanese pressing. Just like others have said, the music is phenomenal. And Doug Sax's mastering is top-notch, no doubt about it. There's not a single filler track here. I bet the crowd had an amazing time watching GB and the band perform live. I think most of the musicians are the same ones from the Breezin' and In Flight sessions. My two favorite tracks on this LP are "We All Remember Wes" and "Down Here on the Ground.
The identity of the lacquer cutter remains a mystery, but with the engineering expertise of Heider, Schmitt, and Sax behind it, you can bet it's going to deliver exceptional sound, and it certainly does—shining brightly and hitting hard. The fusion of GB's vocal and guitar prowess is truly extraordinary.
