As a Toronto local, I've got this album mainly for its historical value and because it's Volume 1 of a series, with Volume 2 being quite enjoyable. It made sense to keep them as a set. However, this record is far too brief, and the live tracks don't offer anything unique to Berry's classic songs. It's just live recordings, not particularly well captured, and not all that engaging. They're okay, though.
The version I got had a plain red and plain blue disc, not the swirly vinyl as mentioned. I bought it on Amazon. The sound quality's fantastic for a live recording from '69. I'd totally recommend it to any Chuck Berry fans or anyone who loves some killer rock n' roll. Has anyone else seen different versions of this release out there?
