In mono too, this album is fantastic. The band (and those ambient club noises) feel so real, like they're right there with you. The music and performance are absolutely brilliant. Highly suggest it!
In mono, this record still shines. The band (and those ambient club noises) feel so alive, like they're right there with you. The music and performance are absolutely stellar. Highly recommended!
Here's the rewritten review following your guidelines: "Here we have a re-release of the '61 Oscar Peterson Trio live performance at the London House in Chicago. My dad was lucky enough to see this trio that year at this very spot and shared his experience with me. So, I went looking for the album to get a feel for what he witnessed. The recording quality is amazingly good for a live show, with the instruments sounding bold and lifelike. The first track really swings, but the standout is "Wee Small Hours Of The Morning", which is so tender and delicate. "Chicago" and "Billy Boy" will get your heart racing...whew. Ray Brown shines on this one, his playing is fantastic and really makes the session. 4.5 stars for a beautiful OP record.

Super lively and full of energy live performance, packed with intensity and effort.
