I've forever been a fan of J.J. and all things featuring big, deep brass sounds... Kai is phenomenal, and I just stumbled upon this growly album. It's got a few gems... like giving UVA credit for trombones leading dance tracks (gotta look into that more), and acknowledging Alaska because it just became a state and they didn't want to leave them out and hurt their feelings - haha! The majorly awesome tracks are Carry Me Back to Old Virginny (James Bland - another fascinating person to look into), Georgia on My Mind, and California, Here I Come (!!!).
