On 27.07.18, they're dropping the Limited Edition of Two Towers on Blue Vinyl! Only 8000 copies exist! I've just secured mine on e.m.p today!
At last, the LOTR soundtracks on vinyl! I grabbed this release, eager to FINALLY obtain a decent sounding soundtrack (those CDs are truly lackluster). I placed the first vinyl on my turntable and after a short while, I couldn't stop myself from beaming with joy. It might not be revolutionary, but it's DEFINITELY the finest this music has ever sounded. Honestly, the LOTR score has NEVER been more majestic, more dynamic, more crisp. This is an incredible release that I wholeheartedly recommend to any fan of these soundtracks. When I listened to Bilbo's party, I could distinctly hear every instrument with perfect clarity. The Bridge of Khazad-Dum sounds powerful and utterly over-bass-whelming (could this be a new term? Did I just invent a new word?). The box is quite attractive, though a bit fragile. You need to handle it with care (which I expect every buyer of such a set to do). The booklet is made of high-quality paper, which pleased me greatly. And the third of the map of Middle-Earth is amazingly cool. Overall, a fantastic release with clear and rich sound. A true collector's item, no doubt about it. Grab it before the prices soar.
The European units arrived in a snug, well-packed box with protective sponge pieces! All neatly tucked inside a bigger Amazon box. Absolutely gorgeous packaging - it's just like the original CD boxes. Copy 4002 / 5000 - Portugal.
