  • Nostalgic Jazz Journey

    5 out of 5 stars
    hnoyrvijigivo29 May 2025United Kingdom🇬🇧

Growing up in the 90’s, I spent countless nights glued to Nick at Nite with my dad, and Taxi was always one of our go-to shows. It was something special that just belonged to us, a bond that's still strong even after he's gone. While everyone keeps praising the main theme song, it's Bob James who deserves the credit for most of the music in the show, and this fantastic record captures all that greatness. Listening to these smooth jazz tunes brought back so many memories of watching the show with my dad, I even felt like streaming it again to relive those moments. The sound quality on this record is amazing, rich and full without any weird roll-offs or distortion. The dynamics are spot on, and the pressing is superb with barely any surface noise. I snagged a sealed, never-played copy, and you can find NM/M copies for a steal. Highly recommend grabbing one, even if you're not a fan of the show.

  • Taxi Soundtrack Brilliance

    5 out of 5 stars
    msfuly26 July 2024United States🇺🇸

Bob James truly outdid himself with this LP, taking charge as the writer, arranger, producer, and performer for these tracks inspired by the 'Taxi' TV series. The album features jazz legends like Eric Gale and Tom Scott. There are tunes named after various characters from the show, though Latka Graves missed out on his own theme, alas. The iconic 'Taxi' theme, known as 'Angela,' is a standout—hear it once, and it's etched in your memory. This soundtrack is a crisp, clean, and absolutely brilliant listen.
