  • Spear's Timeless Rhythmic Delight

I've had to give this album some time to grow on me, but it's truly a delightful assortment of infectious rhythms. A few tracks are revamped versions of older songs. No complaints about this Heartbeat release, it's likely the final Burning Spear album from the 80's that doesn't feel outdated now, with the keyboards and drums sounding authentic and earthy. My copy plays smoothly, there's a bit of light surface hiss at the start of each side, and a rough spot at the end of side one. "Fire Man" - also known as "Fire Down Below" (studio one)"Bad to Worst" - also "Bad To Worst" (studio one)"2000 Years" - also known as "Tradition" (island)"For You" - also known as "Girls Like You" (studio one)
