My first press NM copy sounds absolutely amazing. I'm so happy I didn't part ways with this album during my massive vinyl clean-out a decade ago.
Overall, this is a fantastic pressing! The pressing itself is perfectly flat and almost silent, just like most of the Rhino Hifi records I've collected (around 25). The sound is crisp and clear with a wide soundstage. It could use a bit more body, but it's not thin or weak. I did notice that the "Evil Woman" track sounds a bit off and not as good as the rest of the album. It's also pretty typical of KPG to include a touch of IGD in the cutting. In my opinion, better needles are needed to get the most out of the Rhino HF series! Still, I'm very pleased overall with this one.
Hands down, this is the finest version of this album out there! Kudos to Speakers Corner
TOP-NOTCH VERSION. I ain't got no other edition to compare it to, but I was super stoked to snag this one locally in mint condition. Sure, maybe the original in mint condition could be even better, but who knows if I'll ever find out.. I'll be one happy collector with this one in my hands! Just grab the 1976 Japanese edition and you'll be set!! Tell me if I'm off the mark!
Gorgeous sounding reissue that definitely harks back to the 80s, boasting full dynamics (DR 13) and zero added compression. I'm thrilled that Warner has chosen to reissue tracks like this rather than opting for those later, louder remasters.
