Genius moments shine here, but not every track hits the mark. I'd love to see some of the great ideas expanded beyond just a couple minutes, but maybe that's the intention. A few tracks are pretty irritating, but thankfully they're short enough that you won't have time to get up and change the record. It'll be interesting to see how this album holds up over time with all the new Sam Gendel music that keeps coming out. All in all, it's a solid, chill jazz record, and the sound quality is top-notch, even on this clear vinyl.
