Mel Torme's '60s albums are always a safe bet. He's captivating, brings songs to life wonderfully, and is backed by fantastic musicians with creative arrangements. What more could you ask for? This collection features a handpicked selection of New York-inspired tracks, and it's a fantastic one at that. Mel's voice is as smooth as silk, just like always. The orchestra arrangements are rich, and the band delivers a powerful punch, thanks to Shorty Rodgers and Dick Hazard. The sound quality is excellent, making it a pure joy to listen to. Four stars.
