Product Description

Mick Jagger, the iconic frontman of The Rolling Stones, steps into the spotlight as a solo artist with his debut album "She's The Boss," released on February 19, 1985, under UMC (Universal Music Catalogue). Clocking in at a concise 43 minutes, this album is a vibrant display of Jagger's versatility and enduring charisma.

"She's The Boss" is a dynamic blend of rock, pop, and new wave, showcasing Jagger's distinctive vocals and sharp songwriting. The album opens with the energetic "Lonely At The Top," setting the tone for a collection of tracks that balance introspective lyrics with infectious melodies. Standout tracks like "Running Out Of Luck" and "Just Another Night" highlight Jagger's ability to craft catchy, radio-friendly tunes, while "Hard Woman" and "She's The Boss" demonstrate his rock roots with gritty, powerful performances.

The album also features a more vulnerable side of Jagger, with tracks like "Secrets" and "Lucky In Love" revealing a softer, more reflective tone. Throughout "She's The Boss," Jagger's collaboration with top-tier musicians and producers results in a polished yet raw sound that captures the essence of his solo debut. Fans of The Rolling Stones will appreciate the familiar energy, while new listeners will find a compelling introduction to one of rock's most enduring figures.

This is a 2019 Reissue released as a LP.

Just wanna chime in on that massive 37 paragraph review here, where that guy was like, 'Will the LP even sound as good as the CD?' 😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆😂😆 Seriously, I ain't found nothing digital that can even come close to a killer LP setup. No contest, man, no contest.

  • Vinyl Rediscovery: She's The Boss

    5 out of 5 stars

Vinyl Review: Mick Jagger – She's The Boss (1985, Pitman Pressing, Columbia) It's not every day that a record crosses your path and makes you reconsider your initial impressions of it. But that's precisely what happened when I was rummaging through the stacks at Run Out Groove in Burbank, California, and came across a nearly flawless copy of Mick Jagger's "She's The Boss" from 1985. Having first purchased the album on CD upon its release, I was intrigued to see how the vinyl version would stack up against my digital copy. Let me tell you, I'm thrilled I decided to grab it. The Pitman pressing of "She's The Boss" is simply outstanding. The record is utterly silent between songs and maintains a perfect flatness from beginning to end. No warping, no surface noise, no interruptions. This is the kind of vinyl pressing that makes you appreciate the beauty of analog when it's done right. It's crisp, clean, and a delight to play. Compared to my original CD, this vinyl sounds noticeably richer, more dynamic, and more captivating. You truly hear the warmth that digital often lacks. The mid-range is punchy, and the bass has that deep, rich groove that CD just can't quite replicate. Sound Quality: A Cut Above the CD When it comes to sound, the vinyl version of "She’s The Boss" brings a whole new layer to Mick Jagger’s solo debut. The opening track, Lonely At The Top, comes to life with a sense of space and depth that the CD just doesn't capture. The interplay between instruments feels more intimate. You can actually feel the physical presence of the musicians in the room with you. And speaking of musicians, this album features an incredible lineup: Jeff Beck, Herbie Hancock, Eddie Martinez, G.E. Smith, Nile Rodgers, and Pete Townshend. The clarity of each musician's contribution really stands out on this pressing. It’s worth noting that this pressing was also mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig. A master of his craft who’s worked on countless iconic albums. His expertise really shines through here. The clarity and balance he brought to the mastering process elevate the vinyl experience. The way the high frequencies are handled without becoming too harsh, and the smoothness of the midrange, makes the listening experience that much more enjoyable. Ludwig’s touch ensures that everything from the synthesizers to the guitars and Mick's vocals come through with clarity and depth, which makes the album sound fresh even decades later. Conclusion: Stumbling upon this Pitman pressing of “She's The Boss” was like discovering a hidden gem. Sure, the album didn’t receive as much attention as it deserved back in the day, but in the world of vinyl, it’s a fantastic listen. If you're a Mick Jagger fan or just a fan of classic ‘80s music with incredible musicianship, this pressing is a must-have. And if you’re a collector like me, it's a perfect addition to your collection. Especially when you compare the vinyl's sound to its digital counterpart. This copy made me fall in love with She’s The Boss all over again, and it’s one of the most satisfying finds I’ve had in recent months. Highly recommended if you can get your hands on one!

  • Crisp, Vibrant Sound Quality

    5 out of 5 stars
    kegnlnaobkip26 August 2025United States🇺🇸

Let me talk about the sound here, not the actual music. If you're checking this out, you're probably already aware of who Mick is. The sound quality is crisp and energetic. It was mastered by the legendary Bob Ludwig, so if you're familiar with his work, you know this album's gonna have a vibrant, dynamic sound. The background noise is minimal. Solid pressing overall.
