This album is just packed with heart and feeling. It's criminally overlooked, or folks haven't even heard of this masterpiece. Orlando Voorn truly shines here. Give 'Roomservice' a spin, and you'll get what I'm talking about.
I reckon this might just be one of the most overlooked albums out there. 'Roomservice' is bloody incredible. 'Synthex' is right up there too. Even the tracks that fill out the album are top-notch! Grab a copy! For those in the dark: 'The Living Room' is the alter ego of techno legend Orlando Voorn. There aren't any chart-topping dance tracks here, but every song is a captivating melodic journey, with or without beats. As you might've picked up, this album is best enjoyed at home, in your LIVING ROOM.
As time goes by, finding those 'hidden gems' gets tougher and tougher. Chances are many folks already know about this album, but for those who don't—it's absolutely top-notch. Blending Detroit and Rephlex-inspired techno, this album delivers from beginning to end. The powerful opening track sets the bar high, and you won't be disappointed as it maintains that same quality throughout. It's consistently solid, with that delightful Detroit/AI-infused lightness in its touch and melody, fitting right in with works like Kenny Larkin's 'Azimuth', Silent Phase, and Claude Young's 'Soft Thru'.

This CD is an absolute gem in my diverse music library. Trying to describe it as 'breathy electronics' just doesn't do justice to the complex soundscapes crafted by this brilliant sound engineer. I'd definitely suggest giving it a listen if you're into the organized improvisations of plaid or autechre. It's a unique take - not as harshly mechanical as autechre, more open and airy than plaid, but it gives me that same fairytale-like experience when I listen from beginning to end. And hey, the album art is also one of my all-time favorites, heh heh.
