  The music itself sounds quite nice, but the singing is a tad too loud, leading to some hissing throughout. By the time you reach the last song, "Rise", the vocals are so messed up that it's tough to make out what she's singing in the chorus. There's a bit of crackling here and there, but it's mostly quiet during the tracks. My copy's a bit odd. The first side is pressed way off center and has a significant edge warp, but it sounds alright. Side B is nearly perfectly flat and pressed on-center. All in all, it's an okay sounding record, but it left me a bit puzzled.

• Red Disc Improvement

  I kinda dislike how you can't notice the red unless you're holding the disc towards a light, otherwise it just seems like a black disc. That aside, this is a significant improvement in terms of audio & pressing quality compared to my original black 1lp pressing. Not completely silent, but way less crackly and distorted than the original. If you're a fan of this album, grab it while you can for a fair price!

• Anniversary Edition Disappointment

  This anniversary edition is a real letdown, just like those botched ones I've encountered before. Sure, the discs look amazing, but the noise is unbearable and it kicks in right from the start of Revival. Quality control clearly took a backseat here. The gatefold is an absolute disaster; they should've used the poster's material for it instead. I couldn't care less about the different cover, though (even if she's not a fan of the original deluxe one, which I never heard her say). No printed inner sleeves? Really? And don't even get me started on the missing tracks, Cologne and Outta My Hands (Loco). I get that they're not available in the US, but if *someone* really put their mind to it, they'd find a solution. I mean, if Carly can include the Target exclusive tracks and put them on streaming, why can't everyone else do the same?

  The album's discs appear nice, but this 10-year anniversary reissue is quite disappointing. The gatefold is plain, featuring only the lyrics, and there are no unique inner sleeves—just flimsy paper that isn't even poly lined. When you compare it to the five-year anniversary pressing from Rare, which boasts a more appealing gatefold with some charming Polaroid snapshots, it's even more underwhelming. Sure, there still aren't any custom inner sleeves, but at least that version used poly lined paper sleeves.
