Product Description

Masqualero, the Norwegian jazz ensemble comprising Bugge Wesseltoft, Frode Berg, and Rune Arnesen, presents their debut album "Re-Enter," released on April 1, 1991, under the prestigious ECM Records label. This 45-minute journey through contemporary jazz is a testament to the trio's innovative spirit and musical prowess.

"Re-Enter" is a captivating collection of ten tracks, each offering a unique blend of textures and rhythms. From the invigorating opener "Re-Enter" to the introspective closer "Stykkevis Og Delt," the album showcases Masqualero's ability to seamlessly merge traditional jazz elements with modern influences. The title track sets the tone with its dynamic interplay of piano, saxophone, and drums, while "Lill' Lisa" offers a more subdued, melodic exploration. "Heiemo" and "Gardsjenta" delve into Nordic folk inspirations, adding a touch of cultural richness to the album's palette.

The album's standout tracks, such as "Gaia" and "There Is No Jungle In Baltimore," highlight the trio's knack for creating atmospheric, immersive soundscapes. "Find Another Animal" and "Little Song" demonstrate their versatility, blending playful improvisation with sophisticated composition.

Throughout "Re-Enter," Masqualero's chemistry is palpable, their collective musicianship elevating each piece to new heights. The album is a compelling introduction to the group's distinctive sound, making it a valuable addition to any jazz enthusiast's collection.

This LP was released in 1991.
