There's a bit of surface noise on each side, which is a downer, but it doesn't drown out the music!
The sound quality wasn't quite what I expected, and there are some pops and light, yet irritating, clicks at the end of the first and second sides. I believe I like the hi-res version more. Maybe I should've held out for the standard black vinyl. Half of my clear vinyl records sound fantastic, while the other half have problems.
With a DR (Dynamic Range) score of just 4, can't someone inform Deftones that the Loudness Wars are ancient history and CDs with a DR of 9 or higher, ideally 12+, are still a thing? This album is exhausting to listen to. The vinyl version manages around DR 10, but you'll need to track down a pressing that doesn't have other problems like surface noise or warps.
Apart from a few tiny crackles on Side A that never take over, this release is simply amazing. The vinyl is super flat, the sound is crystal clear, and the overall presentation is top-notch!
