I truly hoped to enjoy this album, as George Duke is one of my idols. However, these renditions of the classic tracks don't quite capture the electrified jazz/rock essence like Herbie Hancock did with "Cantaloupe Island" and "Watermelon Man". The solos feel aimless, and the rhythm section just doesn't click together seamlessly.
