This soundtrack is a true 80s classic. It's not from a film that I'm particularly attached to, and maybe a tad too lovey-dovey for my typical tastes. But you can't argue with the fact that this is one of John Barry's finest works, aside from his iconic Bond scores.

Composer John Barry has crafted numerous film scores, but "Out of Africa" stands out in my vinyl collection because I once traveled to Kruger National Park and went on a safari there. The scenery is vast and breathtaking. Seeing the wildlife in their natural environment was an incredible experience that I'll cherish forever. Barry's music beautifully conveys the enchanting and peaceful sensations you feel when observing lions, buffalo, rhinos, and other animals in their own world.
This might just be one of the most overlooked pressings you'll find on Discogs. The sound is incredibly rich and vibrant. I don't believe there were many of these MCA virgin vinyl series released. Take a look at "Who's Next" for comparison, which is going for over a hundred bucks for a 1995 pressing. Naturally, it's a Kevin Gray masterpiece. Grab this one quick, it's a steal!
