Wonderful re-release combining the classic ONE YEAR album with an extra LP of demo tracks. A sense of sadness runs through much of the music, which is frequently quite soft, and sometimes leans towards a baroque pop style, featuring some truly stunning string arrangements on various songs. I'm pleased with this edition, both records are well-pressed and quiet, and Blunstone's voice sounds fantastic throughout. My copy plays beautifully, clean and clear, with hardly any surface noise to speak of.
Lots of pops and ticks during play, even after I cleaned it wet 3 times and used ultrasonic cleaning. Really let down.
Here's another fantastic release from these guys, with most of the band (Blunstone, Argent, White) back together, and it was even recorded and produced at Abbey Road! Don't miss out on this one, it's just as great as their work with The Zombies. And when it comes to the pressing, this is the version you should grab. It's got a stunning, textured sleeve, cut by George Peckham. Absolutely top-notch.
Absolutely stunning vinyl release of an amazing album. Thrilled to finally own this on record.
Exceeded all my expectations! Fabulous tunes on fantastic vinyl! Absolutely adore it!
