  The album tastes just as yummy as the cd version I recall, It was absolutely worth the wait for the reissue! & that Napalm Death cover sits perfectly with the album so it's like a gift to fans for having to wait for the vinyl version!! \m/ RIP Vitek

• Decapitated's Nihility: A Masterpiece Revisited

  When Decapitated dropped their first album, they were seen as a young talent, but despite the initial record's strengths, some doubts lingered. Those were completely put to rest with "Nihility," an absolute masterpiece. To this day, personally, it's still the best, but only because it's incredibly good - packed with memorable riffs, top-notch playing, and a well-thought-out studio sound and production. Those were the glory days for Hertz Studio. The re-release took ages, but finally, it's here. The mastering is fantastic, with a "fat" sound, plenty of punch, and excellent instrument clarity, with no frequency imbalances. The sound is well-prepared for this edition. However, the pressing quality is questionable; the vinyl of my copy is quite noisy, at least on the first side, which doesn't help when listening to the original high-quality studio tracks. Another downside for Earache is the lack of protection for the vinyl, which is just stuffed into a paper sleeve without any safeguards, not ideal for maintaining quality during long-distance shipping. Hate to think that a legendary label has turned into a bunch of clueless amateurs, but the evidence is there. Apart from that, the reissues of the first three albums come with awesome cover bonuses. With the albums themselves being of moderate length, bonuses like Slayer/Deicide/Napalm Death are a great addition. They're definitely better than live tracks or demo recordings. These albums deserved to be on vinyl ages ago. It's no surprise how Earache did it, but out of respect for many bands' legacies and the culture of buying legal records, these fantastic albums are still being purchased.

  This pressing is spot on. It looks amazing and the sound quality is top-notch. I really appreciate that the vinyl colours match the artwork perfectly. I suppose these albums were recorded and mastered digitally, and Earache still has the original masters. That's the only way I can figure out how fantastic it sounds. I would've grabbed the splatter version too, but it was already out of stock.

  This pic disc ain't like others, trust me, it's absolutely perfect! No gaps or noise between tracks, every song comes through crystal clear. If you're like me and missed out on the original 500, grab this one quick! Who knows when Earache will (if at all) press it again on black vinyl, keep Nihility alive!
