The music on this album is absolutely breathtaking. However, for me, the true highlights are Ron Carter's bass playing and Hank Jones on the piano. They're perfectly captured in the mix and playing exceptionally well. Recorded on open reel, it's astonishing that this was from 1979. The sound quality is so good, it could easily pass for a recent recording.
