This is an amazing pressing! The sound quality is fantastic, with impressive dynamics; the bass is powerful, the drums are crisp, and the guitar leads are piercing. While it might not be at the top of Wolf's greatest albums for everyone, it's definitely worth a spin. It's more on the psychedelic and '70s side compared to his Chicago and early Memphis blues work, but that's not a bad thing. It's not as soaked in psych sounds as "The Howlin' Wolf Album," but it's got a funky, groovy vibe. It reminds me of Muddy Waters' "After the Rain" compared to "Electric Mud." If you're a fan of The Wolf, you owe it to yourself to check out this album. And this reissue sounds better than any other version I've come across. Grab a copy if you can!
