Wow, this album sounds amazing! 👍 DMM is definitely the superior choice!
Side 2 is plagued by an almost non-stop (and seriously distracting) hum in the right ear. "You Go To My Head" is the most affected. It's particularly evident during the softer parts and at the start and end of each song. Eerie silence during the gaps between tracks. Side 1, however, is flawless, not a hint of that annoying buzz. What a pity, because the music itself is fantastic.
I haven't tried it with a stereo cartridge that has a mono switch, but it sounds amazing with a mono cartridge. No hum on my setup. It's not as open sounding as the Music Matters Jazz 45, but for the price, it's really well made.
Incredible jazz album from '53, dominated by that trumpet sound, all in mono.
