Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
Surface noise is quite prominent here, fuzz is always there when you're hearing it. Clicks and pops are also Very frequent. It's disheartening that this Great album was handled so poorly.
My version sounds fantastic, I've never had any issues with it. It's looks amazing and sounds incredible.
To be truthful, I'm really let down. It appears they put in a lot of effort, but the record skips on nearly every song, even after I gave it a good clean. The packaging is fantastic and so is the color. The music itself sounds amazing, but the skipping is a real issue. I'm holding onto it because I'm a huge Lorde fan, but overall, I'm pretty disappointed, particularly since it skips during my favorite songs. I should've paid more attention to the reviews that mentioned this problem.
Back in 2021, I gave a spin to this LP that I'd picked up back in 2018... I'd totally forgotten just how much surface noise was on my copy, even after giving it a good clean! There's a ton of sibilance too (clearly, the mastering wasn't EQ'd right for vinyl), and a smidge of non-fill as well. Such a bummer, considering how awesome the rest of the package is - the gatefold is top-notch, the inner sleeves are well-made, the poster and photo prints are gorgeous, and the disc itself looks fantastic. It's crazy that people are trying to sell this now in 2021 for over A$300, when practically every copy of this album is bound to be a poor quality pressing. I've also got a copy of the standard black 140g vinyl version of this album, and it's the same story there too - noisy, sibilant, and a tad of non-fill, which isn't surprising since they both come from the same stampers and pressing plant. Thankfully, neither of my copies are warped. Please, don't pay any crazy prices for this album, whether it's the deluxe or standard vinyl edition!
The vinyl's sound quality is quite nice, though it does have a small warp. I'd still suggest giving it a try since it sounds pretty decent despite that.
