About Rolf Martinsson

Rolf Martinsson is a prominent Swedish composer, born in 1956 in Glimåkra, Skåne. With over 130 works to his name, including eight concertos and six orchestral pieces, Martinsson's music has left a significant mark on the contemporary classical scene. He is renowned for his orchestral compositions but also has a substantial catalog of chamber music and solo pieces. Martinsson serves as a professor of composition at the Malmö Academy of Music, Lund University, and is a Fellow of the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. His works, such as the St Luke Passion, have been critically acclaimed and are available on major streaming platforms.
