Product Description

Step back in time with The Doors' "London Fog 1966," a captivating live album that captures the raw energy and psychedelic allure of one of rock's most iconic bands. Recorded in 1966 at the legendary London Fog, this album offers a unique glimpse into the early days of The Doors, showcasing their electrifying performances and the birth of their signature sound.

The album opens with two tuning segments, setting the stage for an authentic live experience. It then dives into a powerful rendition of "Rock Me Baby," followed by the bluesy "Baby Please Don't Go" and the soulful "You Make Me Real." The second tuning segment leads into the infectious "Don't Fight It," the classic "I'm Your Hoochie Coochie Man," the enigmatic "Strange Days," and concludes with a fiery performance of "Lucille."

With a runtime of just over 32 minutes, "London Fog 1966" is a concise yet potent collection of tracks that highlight The Doors' ability to blend psychedelic rock, classic rock, and acid rock into a cohesive and captivating live set. The album's release on Rhino/Elektra in 2016 brings this historic performance to new audiences, offering a chance to experience The Doors in their early, electrifying form. Whether you're a longtime fan or new to their music, this album is a thrilling journey into the heart of The Doors' legendary live performances.

This is a 2017 Limited Edition Numbered released as a LP.

  • Disappointing Doors Release

    2 out of 5 stars
    Oxsouzan31 October 2025United States🇺🇸

In my view, this release isn't worth the price, and that's coming from someone who's been a massive Doors fan all their life. It's kinda neat to listen to an early gig, but it's pretty dull and uninspiring. The extras are mostly useless, except for the photos. I don't need a copy of a London Fog coaster or a crumpled set list. If this was released on a 10-inch or CD for $10 or $15, it'd be worth it. But with a $50 price tag, it's way too much for the musical value you get.

This release is fantastic! It cost a pretty penny and is a bit of a fetish item, but after hearing it, I'd say it was money well spent.

In my view, this release isn't worth the cash, and that's saying something as a massive, lifelong Doors fan. Sure, it's neat to listen to an early gig, but it's pretty dull and unexciting. The extras are mostly useless too, except for the photos. I don't need a London Fog coaster or a crumpled set list. If this was out on 10 inch or CD for 10 or 15 bucks, it'd be worth it. But with a 50 dollar price tag, it's way too much for what you're getting musically.
