I bought this mainly for the live CD, as I already own a reissue of "Listen without Prejudice" on vinyl, which is fantastic. Now, about the live CD, some folks have complained about it including "Fantasy" and that live recordings aren't the proper MTV footage, blah blah. I'm not getting into that because I don't care if it is or not (the live track is too short). My point is, "does it sound good? AND YES IT SOUNDS REALLY GOOOOD." The truth is, the live CD sounds BETTER than the studio CD ("Listen without Prejudice"), and I'm not usually a fan of live recordings over studio ones. Highly recommended, 4.5* thanks for reading. Looks like i'm part of the fortunate bunch too ... my version is smooth, barely any imperfections and it sounds great to me . I'm quite picky about sound quality, you know.
Perhaps it's how the album was made, but I don't think this vinyl is that great. I'd rather listen to another one, like Made in Holland, from the same year. It sounds clearer.
After swapping to the AT VM95SH cartridge, my setup sounds fantastic! The sibilance is gone, and I'm not noticing much compression. Check out the dynamic range analysis here: http://dr.loudness-war.info/album/view/185801
