Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
I can't fathom how anyone could rate this as five stars! It's easily one of the poorest sounding LPs I've ever encountered! The soft sections are alright, but the moment Riley turns up the volume, the piano sounds like it's on the verge of collapse. And the new cover art just appears tacky. Unless you possess a mystical high-end turntable that can extract music from anything, I suggest grabbing the original CD with its original cover art instead.
The negative feedback is a mystery to me. I purchased the disc way back in 2010 and the audio quality is spot on for a 'live' album. I knew going in that I wouldn't be getting 'super hi-fi', as live recordings don't often meet high fidelity standards. My only gripe is that it's likely a digital source recording and no special vinyl master was created. I must say, the cover art is absolutely stunning. The liner notes, however, are not the same as the CD version, which I find puzzling. But these days, it seems everyone in the music industry feels the need to chime in with their opinion. It's just a 'social media' epidemic, I suppose.
