As an associate professor of jazz guitar at the University of North Texas, Davy shares his deep knowledge and passion for jazz with the next generation of musicians. His playing is marked by a warm, harmonically rich tone and a keen sense of phrasing, honed over decades of performing and teaching.

Davy is a prolific recording artist, with seven albums as a leader under his belt, including the recent "Live at National Sawdust" and "In This Balance of Tunes." His music is a testament to his deep understanding of the jazz tradition and his ability to innovate within it. As a Benedetto artist and a recording artist for Sunnyside Records, Davy continues to push the boundaries of jazz guitar, captivating audiences with his virtuosic playing and engaging compositions. Whether on stage or in the classroom, Davy Mooney is a force to be reckoned with in the world of jazz.
