Concord Jazz has delivered an astonishingly quiet pressing that brings the instruments to life. The bass drums hit hard and low, while the snare is crisp and almost 'sandy' in texture. The bass lines are rich and smooth, creating a warm and relaxing listen. Jim Hall's guitar work is full and accurate, adding to the overall quality. The record itself is incredibly flat and precise, keeping my needle perfectly centered. It's a fantastic pressing and a must-have for any jazz enthusiast!

You can really feel the powerful thumps of the bass drums, along with the sharp and 'gritty' snare. The bass is rich and smooth, creating a calming and pleasant listening journey. Plus, Jim Hall’s guitars are full and accurate. The pressing itself is remarkably level and exact; my stylus stays perfectly centered throughout. All in all, a fantastic pressing and a wonderful pick for your jazz assortment!
Since '86, this Jim Hall Trio album has so much to appreciate. It's daring and exploratory, with the group showcasing excellent musical rapport. Jim's D'Aquisto tone is mid-focused and deep, which complements LaSpina's more brilliant bass and snare brush techniques. I've got a finely tuned subwoofer, and the low end is incredibly rich. The mixing and mastering are top-notch overall. You'll need a VG+ or better copy to fully enjoy the very hushed moments ("Skylark", "Poor Butterfly") without any hiss. Those tracks are truly breathtaking. 4 stars.
