Hailing from 1962, this early gathering of American bossa nova fans (plus two Brazilians) delivers the style with genuine passion and skill. Bob Brookmeyer takes the lead, accompanied by Jim Hall on guitar solos, Jimmy Raney on rhythm guitar, and Gary McFarland on vibes. These musicians might not have realized that bossa nova would soon sweep American culture and remain popular. Hall's tone is quite acoustic, possibly from a D'Angelico. All in all, a delightful album that'll make your foot tap. Highly recommended.
