This is an incredible collection of timeless tunes from a stellar cast of legends. The album is an absolute masterpiece, easily a 11/10. I'm thrilled to have this vinyl reissue in my collection. I stumbled upon a sealed copy at Amoeba in LA last weekend for just $20, while another sealed copy in the same bin was priced at $40. It was likely a mix-up on the cheaper price tag, but I took the chance and struck gold. Quick tip: don't forget to check out Ira Gitler’s original liner notes from 2004, printed inside the gatefold. They're beautifully crafted. Rest in peace, Ira.
I must say, I was genuinely delighted by the quality of the music in this release. The ballads are absolutely gorgeous, incredibly soothing and calming. Ideal for unwinding and enjoying some peaceful listening. Fantastic!!
