Spinning on my Technics SL-1400 turntable with an Audio Technica Signet TK7SU stylus. Side one's got this awful scraping noise that goes on for ages. Side two's so off-center, I thought my turntable was dancing or something. Plus, there's this constant crackly noise that's just plain annoying. I'm not even gonna bother with the second record. It's just not worth it. Sounds like a total mess. I'll be putting it on the shelf and taking the hit. Another terrible American pressing. 5 stars for the actual music, but 1 star for this record. I'm not sending it back to the store, it's not their fault. Distributors and labels won't take returns on vinyl, saying it's because of poor quality. The store's left holding the bag. It's time for these labels to step up their game. They should take a page from Blue Note, their albums are usually great. It's getting really frustrating.

LP1 sounds pretty good on my copy. 3 consecutive pops somewhere during Dragon Racing, but nothing else too noticeable after that.LP2 has a frustrating gritty scraping sound underneath a lot of the quieter parts on my copy. Like the sound of sand pouring in an hourglass. Will try wet cleaning once I get materials and see if it improves this record any.For anyone interested, At the Movies record shop currently has 2 alternative pressings of this score up for pre-order, due for release soon. If you're unhappy with this variant then you could give one of those pressings a go.
First time doing this, so bear with me. I absolutely adore this, gotta be truthful, I purchased it 'cause I'm a huge fan of the film, but even more, I'm a massive Jonsi fan. It's an ideal addition to my collection.
These discs are absolutely gorgeous to look at, and the packaging with the new liner notes is fantastic. However, the pressing is truly awful. There's so much surface noise that I had to play a different record just to make sure it wasn't my system or the needle acting up. It's such a shame because the music is incredible, but the noise—especially in the quieter parts—is so loud that I could barely get through it. Fortunately, the second LP (Side C/D) was much better in quality.
