Gorgeous record. I've got a Technics Sl-1300 as well, same specs as the person before me, and mine sounds Perfect. Really, it's breathtaking. I'd send yours back if it's not 100% bc that's Surely not usual for this pressing. Totally happy. Valued every cent. P.S.: awesome album.
I'm sharing my thoughts on my personal copy after giving it a thorough clean. The sound quality is quite good, with a nice depth. You can hear everything - vocals, instruments, and the bass is particularly prominent. There are some light crackles and pops here and there. Side A has a bit of inner groove distortion towards the end. Halsey's vocals have some harsh, scratchy feedback. The discs themselves feel a bit cheap and flimsy, with rough and uneven edges. But the outer packaging is stunning, with fantastic spot embossing effects. All in all, I'd give it a 4 out of 5.
I'm checking out the pink US edition here. Quality-wise, it's pretty decent. The audio isn't top-notch, but it actually suits the airy, reverb-heavy tracks on the album. It was a pleasant listen, with only some minor pops and crackles that I'm hoping a good cleaning will fix. My copy of LP 2 was pressed a tad off-center and has some rough edges, but sound-wise, it's fine apart from a faint thumping during the intro and between songs. The bright pink records look great and are well-made. The gatefold jacket is top-notch, with some nice embossed artwork on the front. The printed sleeves are good quality too. Sadly, the two included picture books are pretty much a waste. They're just a few blurry, artsy shots that you'll flip through once and then stuff back in the jacket. It would've been way better if they'd included some recording session pics or stories about the songs. Honestly, anything else would've been an improvement. All in all, for a $35 record, it could be a bit better, but it's still worth grabbing before it potentially becomes rare and pricey.
Super poppy pressing. The audio quality is decent but it's missing some bass.
