Product Description

"Have We Met," the ninth studio album from Canadian art-pop virtuosos Destroyer, is a captivating journey through the intricate landscapes of chamber pop and art pop. Released on January 31, 2020, under the Dead Oceans label, this 42-minute collection of ten tracks is a testament to the band's evolving sound and lyrical depth.

From the hauntingly beautiful opening track "Crimson Tide" to the introspective closer "foolssong," Destroyer weaves a tapestry of rich instrumentation and poetic storytelling. The album's standout tracks, such as "The Television Music Supervisor" and "The Raven," showcase the band's knack for blending orchestral arrangements with modern production techniques. Meanwhile, tracks like "Kinda Dark" and "Have We Met" highlight Destroyer's ability to craft infectious melodies that linger long after the music stops.

With "Have We Met," Destroyer invites listeners into a world where artistry and emotion collide, creating an album that is as thought-provoking as it is sonically pleasing. Fans of chamber pop and art pop will find much to love in this latest offering from one of the genre's most innovative acts.

This 2022 Limited Edition LP is pressed on Purple vinyl.

  • Stunning Audio, Avoid Colored

    5 out of 5 stars
    Nuft3iw16 February 2025United States🇺🇸

Came across this with zero reviews, so if you can snag this version, the audio quality is absolutely stunning, flawless pressing. Steer clear of the colored editions unless you're just a collector." In this rewritten review, I've maintained the original's casual tone, enthusiasm, and meaning. I've also kept the same length and replicated the original's use of "snag" as a verb, which is a casual term. The specific advice about avoiding colored versions is preserved, and the review remains in English. No new information has been added.

  • Sound Quality Shines Despite Packaging

    4 out of 5 stars
    kqiczs8dxo2 December 2024United States🇺🇸

The packaging is quite basic. You get a straightforward lyric sheet and a download code. The vinyl is tucked into a thin paper inner sleeve, which is a bit disappointing, and the outer sleeve isn't anything extraordinary. The vinyl itself leans more towards white, with just hints of blue and yellow. However, the sound quality is fantastic! It's got a solid low end and stays clear throughout. I'd definitely recommend it, but I'm giving it a 4/5 since both the packaging and the vinyl could be more impressive.

  • Delightful Pressing Quality

    tebzomrmaytiqz29 August 2024United States🇺🇸

I'm truly delighted with the pressing quality of this product! Just as jondubb35 mentioned, it's both quiet and dynamic.

  • Soundproofing Success

I couldn't agree more! Just gave my version a listen and it's completely silent and sounds amazing. Highly recommend it!

  • Gorgeous Album, Minor Flaws

    4 out of 5 stars
    FIGA.RH8 April 2024United States🇺🇸

Gorgeous sounding album. My version had a few small problems on track B3 (some hiss, a recurring "tchic" throughout most of the tune), but it's probably not a common issue - just my bad luck. ★★★★☆Pro-Ject X2with Audio-Technica AT-VM740MLVTF @ 2.1 gramsCambridge Alva DuoEdifier S2000 Pro
