Stefan Keune is a German saxophonist born in Oberhausen in 1965, known for his dynamic performances on sopranino, alto, and tenor saxophones. Emerging in the 1990s, Keune made a name for himself in the free improvisation scene, particularly with his trio and his duo with John Russell. His music, rooted in avant-garde jazz, pushes boundaries and invites listeners into a world of spontaneous creativity. Keune's collaboration with Dominic Lash on bass and Steve Noble on drums has been a highlight of his career, showcasing his powerful and expressive playing style. With a discography that includes live recordings and innovative compositions, Stefan Keune continues to captivate audiences with his unique approach to jazz and improvisation.
