• Poor Quality Nolan/Zimmer LP

  I recently purchased a shiny new black edition from Amazon, and it's a real disappointment. It's covered in scratches and has some dents, but the worst part is this weird digital noise in the sound, like when your sample rate doesn't match your input or something. It's like a ringing sound, especially noticeable with strong bass. I reached out to WaterTower Music a few months back, but they never got back to me. I've heard that other Nolan/Zimmer soundtrack LPs are also poor quality, it's a shame that Hans Zimmer doesn't seem to care about this at all.

  Amazing Pressing! Unbelievable SOund (Music on vinyl is always awesome) !!! Blue vinyl, flawless copy, no hissing, no pops Very tidy. For the black version, a friend has surface noise. So, I reckon the blue version is superior to the black version. Listen to "SUpermarine" at full volume :-)" (Note: The rewritten review maintains the same enthusiasm and casual tone as the original.   This soundtrack is hands-down the most electronic you'll come across for a WWII film. Yet, it genuinely works! I remember watching it in the cinema and clenching my jaw non-stop. The reason? The music really ramps up the suspense and unease. There are also some stunning bits, cleverly weaving Elgar's "Enigma Variations" in. It's a tad repetitive, I'll admit, and follows a pattern Zimmer started with Inception; but given what he delivers, it suits the theme perfectly.

• Black Vinyl Noise Issue

  I picked up a black vinyl copy and unfortunately, side a had a really bothersome amount of surface noise that wouldn't go away even after cleaning. It's quite odd for a MoV pressing, and I'm not sure if it's just my copy or if they're all like this. Sides b, c, and d, however, sounded flawless. I ended up returning it and got the limited edition on blue vinyl, which sounds way better. I'd definitely recommend it.
