Best BT album ever made, fewer tracks but more heart than Mountain Sounds sounds amazing on vinyl.
I've never owned a Japanese/Obi vinyl before, and I gotta say, I'm really impressed with how well it's pressed (no joke intended). The little sticker and Japanese poster that came with it are awesome, and those blue sparkles? They make it look like a tiny universe.
When we believed we'd witnessed every vinyl trick in the book, Big Thief surprised us with a touch of shine. Post a good cleaning, the minor production hums vanished, and their fresh soundscapes shone through. Naturally, the album doesn't quite hit the heights of “Dragon” — let's see it as a stepping stone to their next masterpiece, and cherish it with sparkly nostalgia. It sounds fantastic, looks fantastic - 5 Stars!
I was a bit anxious about the sparkle compound, but my lp turned out fantastic and sounds amazing. No problems at all!
Audio quality is quite nice, though there's some background noise and it's a tad too quiet for my liking, but all in all, it's quite dynamic and worth grabbing.
