"Don't Cry Baby...It's Only A Movie" is the eighth studio album by UK cult band Television Personalities, released in 1998 after a three-year recording process. Blending jangle pop, post-punk, and neo-psychedelic elements, the album spans 41 minutes of introspective and melodic tracks. With songs like "Love Changes Everything" and "Isn't It A Pity," the album showcases the band's signature sound and lyrical depth. Fronted by Dan Treacy, the album was recorded mainly at Toe Rag and WYNU studios in New York. However, the release was marred by Treacy's personal struggles, as he battled mental health issues and addiction around this time. Despite these challenges, the album stands as a testament to Television Personalities' enduring influence and unique musical vision.
