Absolutely stunned. Just this morning, I was convinced only a fool would spend $150.00 on a vinyl. But I was at my local record shop, the owner was giving 25% off, and I thought "why not". Words can't describe it. I'm now owner number 1823.
Worth having in your music library, not their best work but still a solid album.
When it comes to Van Halen's David Lee Roth period, this one's a real clunker. It's obvious they didn't put much work into it, just a cash grab. Still, it's not as bad as their stuff with that Sammy Hagar guy and/or the total disaster that was the album with that no-talent from Extreme, Joe whatever-his-name-is.
Four down, one more to go, and I'm loving every minute of it! I've been singing praises for all the MoFi VH releases when stacked up against Chris Bellman's remasters, and this one's no different. The bass is richer and more robust, the instruments are more distinct, and the overall sound is so natural that it makes Eddie's "brown sound" a joy to listen to. I'm not saying Chris' remasters of the DLR era albums are bad, they're all fantastic, but the MoFi versions just have that extra something. You get my drift, right? ;) Keep it up!
While this album is fantastic, it's my least favorite among the DLR records, even after experiencing it live for the first time during this tour. I'm really pleased with the UD1S versions of these VH albums.
