Whether a review is positive, negative, or neutral, we always publish it. However, we screen every review to ensure it is authentic and free of profanity. These checks happen automatically, though a human occasionally steps in. We never pay for reviews.
I must say, I was truly let down: one of my all-time favorite albums ever sounds awful on vinyl (4785288 from 2016). Now that I've checked out the other reviews, I get the picture.
Suena bastante bien, no hace ruidos ni se traba, no entiendo por qué se quejan tanto los tontos, había escuchado otra edición también islandesa y no se escuchaba bien, por eso no me lo había comprado, si no lo tienen recomiendo comprarse esta versión
I previously wrote a review for this fantastic pressing quite some time ago, but I must have deleted it by mistake or perhaps Discogs did. Regardless, judging by the matrix numbers, it appears this was cut by a guy who prioritized using the earliest generation masters possible and had strong opinions about digital transfers when analogue tape was still an option: https://www.analogplanet.com/content/whos-cutting-those-lacquers-part-1-0. That being said, since this was produced in 1995 and not 1975, we can probably assume the recording and mix were done digitally. However, this does debunk the claim made by another user a few posts down that it was "cut from CD" without any evidence. I haven't had the chance to listen to a 1995 original, but I purchased this version 20 years ago and it's always sounded great, even on the not-so-great setup in my student bedroom. On a proper system, it's absolutely stunning. You've got to crank up the volume, but there's minimal surface noise, so that's not an issue. Perhaps the 2025 reissue has surpassed this one - I haven't heard it - but if you come across a 2004 cut at a reasonable price, it's definitely worth it!
got a good one i guess. this copy sounds amazing. common people is just incredible. wow wow wow
Among the three vinyl versions of this album I've owned, this one boasts the finest audio quality. The original release has a strangely mixed sound, while the standard pressings come across as compressed and lifeless. For those who value sound quality, this is the one to choose.
