I only just saw that this is an "unofficial release" after it arrived. The sound quality on this pressing is absolutely amazing, in my view! Apart from a couple of minor ticks, it's got a really vibrant, analogue-style sound, despite it probably being a digital master. This is a truly lovely LP.
If you're into hard bop and modal jazz, this is an essential addition to your collection. SS & Co. deliver an outstanding performance here. Pallas has pressed only 1250 copies, and the sound quality is fantastic—heavy, clean, and rich. With decent gear, it's like the band is right there in the room with you, and even if it's not, you'll still feel compelled to cheer as if you were in the audience. Expect the value of this record to rise significantly. If you spot one for under $100, grab it—it's a bargain.
