  • ECM Gem Shines Bright

    5 out of 5 stars
    jjjnkotk25 June 2025United States🇺🇸

I was fortunate to stumble upon this gem in almost perfect shape. The quality of the pressing is outstanding, which is no surprise coming from ECM. It's an astonishingly intricate and subtle album, yet it remains incredibly approachable and enjoyable to listen to. This one's going to get a lot of playtime.

ECM's finest work, in my opinion. The pressing is top-notch too!

  • Krautrock Calms Autistic Son

    5 out of 5 stars
    bezwmen549928 April 2024United States🇺🇸

This 1974 Krautrock gem is quite the peculiar addition to my collection, seeing as I'm more of a wave, punk, and industrial enthusiast. Yet, I'm utterly captivated by the melancholic vibe of this album, and it holds an extra special significance for me. I stumbled upon the fact that this music has a remarkable impact on my severely autistic, non-verbal son. Whenever I play it, he noticeably calms down, starts to focus on the sounds emanating from the speakers, and appears to "chill out" a bit, shifting from his typically hyperactive, tense demeanor. I believe he genuinely "connects" with the record's soothing ambiance and appreciates the subtle yet captivating fretless double-bass tunes. Each time, there's a touch of magic in the air, and clearly, one doesn't need to be highly refined to "sense" it. Only a few records evoke this response in my special boy, which is what renders this particular album an absolute treasure. Thanks for these invaluable moments, Herr Weber.

  • Brüninghaus's Timeless Jazz Virtuosity

    5 out of 5 stars
    KoetamZ18 March 2024United Kingdom🇬🇧

This is the initial segment of the triptych. It features more crossover and less jazz compared to the others. The recurring two-part theme in the opening and closing sections of the main track evokes memories of Carla Bley's "Lawns." Rainer Brüninghaus delivers a stunning solo piano performance, a true virtuoso often underappreciated. The album has stood the test of time remarkably well.
