This album comes in a regular-width spine, non-gatefold jacket, but it does feature high-quality artwork and a beautiful inner sleeve. It's pretty much what you'd expect from Sony reissues—no surprises, but certainly not a letdown. The vinyl itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a marbled yellow color that's way more appealing than the recent opaque ones they've put out. As for the sound, it's fantastic—dynamic and rich in bass, though it could be a bit louder. "I'm Not A Girl" sounds incredible on this one. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. Definitely worth picking up if you can snag it at a reasonable price. Fingers crossed they release a boxset for the 25th anniversary next year, just like they did for "Oops"! ;-)
Absolutely stunning LP, one of the prettiest I've come across :) perfectly captures that 2001 aesthetic, reminds me of that iconic Versace jungle gown. The audio quality is fantastic and the artwork definitely deserved a 12" format. In my opinion, this is the coolest version/release of this LP.
This pressing's sound quality is quite similar to the other three Urban Outfitters releases, though it does have a touch more brightness to it, in my view. I've come across some folks who've had issues with the UO versions, but personally, I've always found them to be quite decent (with the exception of the first pressing, which has some static during the quieter sections on my copy). It plays really well on my system, with just a couple of minor crackles on "Boys". Apart from that, it's a clean pressing. The outer sleeve is a bit on the thin side, but the inner sleeves are of better quality than those from the UO exclusives. If you're a collector, this one's worth considering. But if you just want to listen to the album and already own one of the UO pressings, you might as well stick with that. My setup: Turntable: Technics SL-1200MK2 Stylus: Audio-Technica AT-VM95ML Speakers: Klipsch R-15PM Subwoofer: JBL Arena Sub 100P
i can only express good things about this project. it features a truly gorgeous collection of songs. this, along with her previous releases, really highlights her amazing skills as a performer.
Tunez are fantastic! SO thrilled they're finally dropping B on vinyl.
