This record sounds INCREDIBLE, if you ever come across one, it's a must-have. I'm not into, don't listen to, or own a stereo version of this album, but for mono, this pressing, even if it's a fold-down, beats my UK mono copy hands down in liveliness and that pure, natural beauty that makes a mono record direct and warm.
Anyone looked at this next to a U.S. first mono pressing? Wondering how the UK version stacks up.
As I said before, this record is almost perfect! I was a bit concerned about the shiny look, but boy was I wrong, shiny vinyls can be awesome!!
In my opinion, this album stands as Hendrix’s pinnacle work. It steers clear of the pop-oriented sounds of Are You Experienced and doesn’t have the over-the-top elements of Electric Ladyland. Still, I reckon many would concur that "EXP" might not be the best choice for the opening track. The two castle-inspired songs are absolute masterpieces, and tracks like “Wait Until Tomorrow” and the title song are also among my favorites. This particular pressing is excellent: the late '70s Reprise reissues are some of the finest vinyl pressings of Hendrix's work you can get your hands on.
PERFECT PRESS. THIS RECORD IS BREATHTAKING. AWESOME UPLIFTING SONGS FROM THE 60s.
